INFORMATION on how to get to Can Gat Vell Rural Tourism Alt Empordà
The rural houses of Can Gat Vell, located in the village of Llampaies, in the middle of the Alt Empordà region, are perfectly communicated by road, rail or plane.
They are only 2 km from the AP-7 freeway exit and 17 km from the best beaches of the Costa Brava.
Moreover, the city of Barcelona is 125 km away.
Locations such as Cadaqués, Port Lligat or Cap de Creus are approximately 56 km away.
Llampaies (Saus, Camallera i Llampaies) is a small rural nucleus of approx. 80 inhabitants, 2.5 km from Camallera where we will find all the services. We can see its Romanesque church of Sant Martí from the XII century, its well-kept streets and houses from the XVII-XVIII century. In Llampaies we have a health park with machines for sports, as well as a playground and horse riding Centre Eqüestre Empordà.
If you arrive by car
Take exit number 5 - L'Escala. Once we have left, at km. 3 of the GI-623 road we will find Llampaies. We will have to turn right and follow the main street for 80 meters. On the right we will find the entrance to Can Gat Vell (with the sculpture of a cat at the entrance).
If you come by plane
Barcelona airport is 125 km away and Girona airport is only 37 km away.
In both cases, once we have landed, the fastest way to get there is also by road, following the instructions in the section "how to get there by car".
We can also take the suburban train to Portbou/Figueres (lines R11-RG1) and get off at Camallera station.
From Camallera station, you can contact the cab Fèlix de Camallera (669 85 31 96 / 669 85 31 98) to get to Can Gat Vell.

If you come by train / AVE: the Figueres-Vilafant AVE station is only 21 km from our house, and the Girona station is only 23 km away.
From Girona, we can take the suburban train to Portbou/Figueres (lines R11-RG1) and get off at Camallera station.
RODALIES/CERCANÍAS : LINES R11 + RG1 with stop at CAMALLERA (train station 2,5 km from Llampaies-Can Gat Vell)
From Figueres-Vilafant, take the bus to the train station located in the center of Figueres and take the suburban train towards Barcelona (lines R11-RG1) and get off at Camallera station.
From Camallera station, you can contact the cab Fèlix de Camallera (669 85 31 96 / 669 85 31 98) to get to Can Gat Vell.
